2003 ARIZONA GOLD PROSPECTING TRIP
Left late December 2003 and took our time. Took 5 days to get to the Ghost Town of STANTON, Arizona. Spent Christmas on the road. Went through rain, dust storms, wind, and cold. Had a wonderful time at the "Gold Prospectors of America" outing. Participated in the "common dig" and split up all the gold. Watched the New Year's Eve play put on by the Massie brothers, crew, and volunteers. It was a great night and a wonderful way to end the outing.
Took a side trip to Camp Verde. Then took our leisure on the return trip.
Our male Shih Tzu was only a puppy, but he, along with Buttons and Muffin enjoyed the trip. A good time was had by all.
We took a month over Christmas 2004 and spent it at a Texas Beach. Little did we know when we woke up on Christmas morning that there would be 5" of snow!! Unheard of in this "warm" climate. It lasted a couple of days and then got foggy and actually warmed up. Another fun and unique trip.
2003 STAR PARTY & TRIP TO LAKE WHITNEY STATE PARK
An annual star party is held at Lake Whitney State Park and since I purchased a Meade telescope, I decided to make a trip out to the star party. My scope has a 16" dia. primary mirrow and an 1800mm (6 ft.) focal length. Lake Whitney State Park is a really nice park and it even has an airstrip. That is why there is an airplane in my pictures.
2004 STAR PARTY & TRIP TO LAKE WHITNEY STATE PARK
Our second trip to the annual star party held held at Lake Whitney State Park. As last time, images through my scope were equal to or better than any scopes there. Took time to take more pictures of the park and the trip up and back.
